Auraterrae, a beautiful farm in the heart of Apulia, is a 5-star hotel whose mission is the profound well-being of its guests, blending tradition and innovation. To fulfil this vision, the hotel decided to invest in a domestic hot water (DHW) production system that would guarantee efficiency and sustainability without compromising the service quality.

Technical data of the project
The hotel expressed the need to supply DHW at a flow rate of 200 l/min to meet the simultaneous needs of guests and the kitchen, with a simultaneity factor calculated at 75%. This results in an effective demand of about 150 l/min of DHW at a constant temperature of 45°C.
To meet this need, Agenzia RSI and Lovato assisted and supported the design of the plant, sizing it as follows:

A 1000+1000 litre technical tank, heated by two heat pumps of 16 kW each. The latter work with a design temperature of 60°C, ensuring the ability to store and maintain heat to meet peak demand without loss of performance.
Lovato installed products and solutions
The following were installed to ensure DHW efficiency and constant availability:

2 T-Fast ie 60 (60 l/min) in cascade, designed for the instantaneous production of DHW for rooms. These modules allow real-time response to hot water demand, preventing energy waste and optimising the load on the heat pump.

1 T-Fast i20 (20 l/min) intended exclusively for the kitchen, ensuring that there are no interruptions in the DHW supply even during meal preparation.
The advantages of the T-Fast system
The Lovato T-Fast system is a highly efficient solution for instantaneous DHW production, especially when coupled with heat pumps. Its main technical benefits include:
- No DHW storage tank: thanks to instantaneous production, which reduces the risk of heat loss.
- Modularity and scalability with its cascade system: T-Fast modules allow flexible installation and easy expansion as load requirements increase.
- Optimisation of the heat pump work cycles, which mainly operate to maintain the tank at 60°C, while the T-Fast system handles instantaneous and precise production at 45°C.
- Reduced risk of Legionella: T-Fast eliminates stagnant water volumes, thus reducing the risk of Legionella proliferation.
With this solution, Auraterrae has been able to achieve a high-performance DHW system, providing comfort for guests and staff, while reducing energy consumption and operating costs.
